About The Event
In this 4-week class, we will explore fusion dance by creating dramatic combinations rooted in bellydance while adding sharp isolations, lovely layers, and innovative arms. Each week will dive into songs that fuse western & modern beats with popular Arabic music.
Prerequisite: Proficiency in beginner-level bellydance movement or a similar class by another teacher
- Week 1: "Arab Trap: Made in Egypt" by DJ Kaboo / "Khosara" by Abdel Halim Hafez
- Week 2: "Ahwak" by Elyanna / "Ahwak" by Abdel Halim Hafez
- Week 3: "Aman" by Myriam Fares / "Lamma Bada Yatathana" (originally a poem)
- Week 4: "Um Kalthoum Swings" by Omar Kamal / "Fakarouni" by Um Kalthoum
